Class reunions always bring back memories from the past. But when state prosecutor Nina Carstens arrives at her class reunion, it's the present that's infinitely more troubling: her old friend Dagmar is found dead, apparently a suicide. Convinced that Dagmar was murdered, Nina begins to investigate, uncovering the secrets of a tight-knit community. It turns out that the ties within her old clique are disturbingly tangled: Dagmar was betraying her husband with one old friend, an ambitious politician who, in his turn, was involved in shady deals with another, a local contractor. Another friend, who works at Dagmar's flourishing pharmacy, has been turning a blind eye to the illegal sale of pharmaceutical samples. But while Nina keeps probing, one of her own dark secrets from the past has just been brought to light, endangering her investigations, her career- and possibly her life.
